Mother's Day was Phat and Fat!!

How did you get pampered for Mother's Day? For me, Mother's Day is one of the most special days of the year. A place when I can sit back, eat what I want, have my husband pamper me. This Mother's Day was Phat and Fat.

Phat because it was truly a day where my husband served and showered me with love. A day where my contributions and hard work is recognized. A day where we went where I wanted to go and do. That meant a journey to a craft fair and shopping. A day of pure loving and support. Thank you husband for making it special. A day without cleaning, without laundry, without any chores!

First I must say that we have a low carbohydrate lifestyle. So when I say I had a Fat Mother's Day. I mean it to every letter! My husband got me all my favorite junk food I wanted for the day. For breakfast he made me Belgium waffles and my favorite coffee. For those that don't know me, I'm a coffee freak! For lunch he made me BBQ ribs with his special homemade Texan BBQ sauce. Texans know how to grill, they literally fell off the bone. Yummy! Then came dinner and desert. For dinner he made me what's called a horseshoe. We were introduced to these when we lived in Springfield Illinois. That's where these heart-attack on a plate dishes were invented. I love them! A horse shoe is where take any meat, lay it on top of thick sliced bread, cover with French fries and beer cheese sauce. In my case, I love buffalo style chicken. Hot & Spicy! Lots of French fries and pour on the cheese sauce. What did I get for desert you may be asking? Nothing better than a ding dong and a twinkie! Perfect mix of cake and cream!

I hope everyone else had a fabulous Mother's Day. A day that we remember all year round!

So are you in sweats today? I would be after eating all that!!! Sounds yummy though. My mother's day was spent at the beach, we stayed in a semi-sucky hotel room Cayucas, went to Outriggers in Morro Bay for breakfast, walked around and shopped a little, then took the boys to the park on the south end of the strip (big wow as Cole said, but he did play for over an hour), then went back to Rose's Landing and had lunch where Tyler fell asleep sitting in my lap while I was eating, then we headed for home about 1'ish and the boys sleep until about 4pm when we pulled into Delano to grab some KFC for dinner. Then the big surprise came once we were home. We had video taped Cole's 1st soccer game on Saturday so he wanted to watch the video, so after it was over Brian started recording him and Tyler, and they told me Happy Mother's Day and blew kisses, but to hear Tyler say it was amazing. He said his own version which sounded a lot like hoppy mommo's day and wuv you, needless to say I was in tears after watching it. Hope everyone else had a great day.

i hope your hubby is wiling to part with that bbq recipe! i'd love it if my ribs fell off the bone! from your picture, i'd say you could do a day like that every now and then and not pay the consequences!! good for you! i spoiled myself with a cake of my own making. absolutely divine! a cheesecake placed ever so neatly on top of a chocolate flourless cake with a layer of ganache in between. then some more ganache drizzle on top of the cheesecake and then a bunch of drunken raspberries on top. carbs?? A LOT!!!!!!!!!

My love surprised me big time. I didn't expect anything - I'm just a mom-in-training right now. But as the mother's day gifts got passed around at his family's house, he handed me some envelopes. Inside was a very loving card that I kept re-reading last night, and also a gift certificate for a "Princess Day of Beauty" at my salon: manicure, pedicure and massage! I felt so spoiled :)

I got a wonderful breakfast from my parents. I'm a health freak so it's hard to eat bad things, but i was feeling like i could that day. I splurged and had a waffle with fake syrup (not pure maple) and some broccoli quiche made with cheese but tons of broccoli. It was delicious, since most days are egg whites with veggies and oatmeal. My hubby was not feeling well, so other than the waffle treat nothing was out of the ordinary :( that's okay though, I have a massage waiting for me from the hubby for my mother's day gift. The other nice thing on mother's day was I got to lay out and read a book for 2 hours and not clean, cook or train while my lil one was sleeping. ahhh relaxing.
