HALLOWEEN TREATS
As Halloween nears, I am curios as to which most prefer. Do you door- to -door trick - or - treat, organized function on Halloween, or restrict to only family and friends? As I get older I don't see as many kids doing the door to door thing like when I was a kid. 2 comments from 2 users

When we lived in Bakersfield we had door to door treaters, mostly from our neighborhood, but we noticed a few that were not kids we had seen before (the van would pull up and unload about 10 kids, then cruise down the street and pick them up again). Up here we do a hay ride with designated houses (about 10-15 total), takes us a little over 2 hours to travel 3 miles, then we end it with hot dogs and marshmallow roast at one of the church elders houses. Then again we usually only have about 20 kids on the hay ride, or less. I don't know what we would do if we were back in town, maybe only go to houses we knew or talk with some neighbors before hand and find out what they are doing.

My kiddos are still fairly young, and we're not planning to trick or treat. If they're not sick tomorrow, we'll probably go to the harvest carnival at Valley Baptist. My son has never really cooperated with Halloween. Last year he refused to wear his costume, and this year he has declared that he is scared of Halloween, monsters, and ghosts.
