down weekend
Location:
Nashville, TN
We've had a great week, but ready for a weekend of nothing. My station sent me to Nashville last week for several days full of interviews, sessions, and more. I love going down there for GMA (gospel music association, it's a week of events prior to the dove awards). I'm lucky enough to have a job that was willing to send my wife as well, so we were able to have some time away which was really nice. My mom flew here from Wisconsin for her first trip since we moved. She was able to watch the Z-Rock for us. So, aside from the actual work I had to do, which was fun anyways, it was pretty much an all-expense paid trip to downtown Nashville. Great food, high class hotel, and some amazing rock shows. Definetly nice not only to have some time away, but also to know that it was my mom with Z-Rock. There are other people we've met around here that we trust, but there is certainly a difference between letting someone you havn't known for more than 6 months and your own mom taking your child for a week. Still, it WAS a busy week; full of late nights and early mornings. And upon returning to work Friday, things were fairly chaotic. We had a competition to be 'DJ for a day.' Actually, only one hour. Through too many people not having the correct information (internally and externally) I ended up with 2 guest DJs (supposed to be just one) both at seperate times, neither of which they were scheduled for. One of them brought a whole crowd of people with for some reason. This probably doesn't sound like much of a problem to you, but just trust me, being the guy that has to deal with it, especially during a show I already have planned out, it is. I believe that was a run-on sentence. Thankfully, it is now the weekend. My mom has flown back home, and I plan on doing pretty much nothing. Movies and pizza all weekend sound good to me. It is funny how your week can determine your weekend. Now, time to breathe slow. 2 comments from 2 users

Nice that grandma got to spend a good chunk of quality time (sans parental interference!) with Z-Rock (I see you chose a nom de blog suitable for the child of a DJ, heh). Welcome back.
