Sheeky - > On-Air -> Mothers day from afar
Mothers day from afar

So, this topic is a little belated, but I wanted to ask anyways.  I know many of you have moved here from another city, or even another area of the country entirely like we did.

What is your typical response on mothers day?  I mean, do you just send a card and call?  Or do you typically send a gift?  Do you have the type of moms that are upset if they do not get a present?

My mom is real good about it.  She is pretty low key, and would be happy with a simple phone call, but I usually try to at least send something.  This year it was a book called 'A Mothers Legacy,' one of those books your mom can fill out all about her life.  I look forward to reading what she fills out.  There is a 'Fathers Legacy' as well, that I'd recommend for Fathers Day.

We went down to Arcadia on Saturday, not exactly cross country, but not convenient either, to visit my mother-in-law, along with all that side of the family.  It was nice.  Then we did moms' day here in Bfield with my side (my mom lives here).  I guess we don't really qualify to answer the question since we are within driving distance, but I will say that our moms are happy with cards, especially since we also visit in person.  If we couldn't visit one, I would probably do flowers or something else as well

i used to send gifts...pre-my own celebrations of mother's day.  now that i'm a mom, i tend to focus my energy around my celebration since i feel like i'm the one in the midst of the fire.  other than that, we make calls and send cards.  but then again, our moms have also previously told us to save our money and spend it on the kids rather than getting them things.  so, i feel like i have permission :).
