My feet are broken......

I have always been the tennis shoe person, I only wear sandals when it goes with an outfit or a trip to town sometimes.  But while I was at home recovering from surgery I wore either socks only or sandals, for over 2 weeks. Now my tennis shoes hurt my feet and my sandals are comfortable.   There's so much dirt around my house though that wearing sandals all the time makes my feet dirty.  Maybe it's a good thing in disquise - since I'm working again and tennis shoes are not very professional looking, I'll wear dressy shoes more often.

That's funny.  Your feet have become accustomed to more freedom!  (I wear flip flops most of the time, even in winter.)

My husband's sisters wear flip-flops or some sort of sandal year round too, they both say closed toe shoes hurt their feet.  One sister is a Pharmacy tech at a prison in Oklahoma, and the other is a manager of a subway sandwich shop in Oklahoma. Both jobs would reguire closed toe shoes you would think, but I guess those Okies are different then Californians.

On the flip-flop subject - my neighbors wears them all the time and her 3 kids, but our school doesn't allow flip-flops on the children, I'm not even sure they can wear sandals unless they are strapped on somehow.  My neighbors oldest will start kindergarten next Tuesday, wearing shoes all the time will be hard for him.  I've always been the "sensible" type when it comes to shoes, not the "fun" type, so my kids have never owned a pair of flip-flops - I'm such a mean mommy!
