Hi!  I am new to this site and I am not sure what it's like....But I am a mom to a beautiful 17 month old boy (genius, might I add).  We are actually living in Beijing, China right now, but we will be coming back in November.  My husband is a student at CSUB in Computer Science, and I am about 6 units shy of getting my MA from MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno.  Which I have put on hold for the time being...I like being a SAHM, and school was taking me away from the ones that I love.  It was a very hard decision to make, but I am so grateful I did.  Anyway, we're in China because my husband is doing him Internship here.  It's been great!  I am absolutely loving it! 

So, heres my reason for searching out raisingbakersfield:  After I had my son, I had severe post-partum depression.  I finally feel like I've got a handle on myself.  But, I feel like I have been out of touch with everyone and everything.  Now that I am better, I want to build friendships and find community activities that I can be involved in.  I don't know what there is here, but I thought this would be a good place to start.
