It may kill me, but . . .

I have decided that I have absolutely got to cut down on caffeine.  By cut down, I mean eliminate Diet Coke!!!  I am terrible.  I don't even want to say how many cans of it I drink a day - I'm not really sure, but the estimate would be terrible.  So, on Saturday, I told my husband that the next day I was going to do it and that it was going to have to be cold turkey, and he had to help me, or I would break down.  So, Saturday night, I drank my last can of Diet Coke, at least for a while.  It is now the end of Tuesday, and I have not had any.  I have had some caffeine in the form of Excedrin to help with the headaches and in the form of chocolate, which I am NOT giving up!  I don't eat as much chocolate, though!!!  I have wanted to give it up for a long time, but have not been willing to do it.  I am excited that I may actually accomplish this goal!!!  I do realize that we are only three days in, but I think it will happen!

I feel your pain. I have been thinking about it too but keep putting it off. I have done it before--with my pregnancies--but always go back to it. A combination of sleep depravation and caffeine withdrawal. Anyway, hang in there! I wish you luck!

You can do it.  And once you get over that hump of withdrawal, it becomes pretty easy.  I gave up a lot of things in my stand-off with cholesterol.  Keep it up!

I know what your going through, knew another that did the same. Caffeine is dang there like a drug it can get so addicting. Luckily awhile ago I stopped drinking sodas pretty much in general, due to motocross racing and trying to stay in shape. It was weird but it's like I almost made myself not like it. Hang in there, you'll get it.

I didn't drink a TON of soda, but still what I would consider "too much".  (probably 2-3 a day) So about a month ago, I went down to one a day, most of the time none. After a week, I didn't even WANT to drink it anymore.  I was picking water over Diet Pepsi. Imagine that!

Good Luck Becky!
