Mother's Day Ideas
So, I'm wondering what treat I should have for Mother's Day. I was thinking about a day at the spa. I thought about a day trip. I thought about seeing what musicals, shows, concerts are happening. I'm still deciding. How about you? What are your plans to celebrate Mother's Day? (and fathers, if you haven't started thinking about Mother's Day, now is the time - hint, hint!) 7 comments from 7 users

Jill gets giddy for P.F. Changs, so it has become our Mothers' Day Lunch tradition (call now if you haven't, dads... reservations are tough on that day). Other than that, it's a night to put the kids to bed early, pop in a movie (of her choice... not a war or sports movie), give a back rub, foot rub, or whatever and just relax. I usually get at least a week of get-out-of-jail-free cards for that. posted by

My wife's parents are going to come up for the weekend, so I'm sure my father-in-law will cook some Filipino food and we'll just chill and let three generations of my wife's family spend some quality time together. :) Maybe we'll hit Hodel's on Sun., my in-laws love that place (and if you go early enough, even Mother's Day is doable, I think we did it before). Oh, and I think we're gonna hit the Prime Cut's Cajun/crawfish fest on Sat., too. Can you tell we like to celebrate by eating? Oh, and of course, celebrate the "official" launch of RaisingBakersfield.com on Mother's Day! :) posted by

Jason, Ooh, cajun crawfish fest sounds fun! Yeah, I know you're foodies. Kevin, my hubby used to rub my feet all the time, and I loved it. He gave it up some years ago :( posted by

i asked my hubby for one thing this year...to read the book Bringing up Boys, since we have two of them now. to prove that he read it, i asked him to give me a short written synopsis of each chapter, i.e., the main point from each chapter. that's all i want. because it'll be the gift that keeps on giving if he adopts some of the principles in the book! other than that, i get all gourmet and cook my own brunch and usually some killer dessert. the restaurants are too crowded for me to enjoy myself and although my hubby would cook for me, i'm not up for the experiment! posted by

I have no idea what we are doing. Mothers Day is a hard day for me... The three women who've been a mother to me in my life are gone now. So it's bitter-sweet. I can't wait until Katelyn and I can really celebrate it together. We will probably visit my mother-in-law for the weekend. If I could have any dream gift it'd be a weekend away by myself. LOL I would really love that! posted by

Ok, heres what you do. Grill up a HUGE tenderloin steak. Afterwards, have a good cigar. Then, finish the night off with a classic kung-fu movie.
oh wait... you wanted MOTHERS day ideas... posted by

We don't see my family very often because they live out of town, so my dad asked if we would be willing to come down on Saturday for swimming and dinner. It's already a crazy day for us because Layton has his final T-Ball game and award celebration lunch. But we get to go down and see my mom! I'm looking forward to the time. I also got to choose where I wanted to eat lunch on Sunday. My favorite is PF Changs. So, we are going there with my in-laws (who recently moved to Bakersfield). My mouth is watering already!
