I'm Resourcing - Need Any Ideas You Have

I might be going back to work part time.  I mean really part time.  My mother said she could help out some with child care, but she cannot do it all.  There's no way I would ask her to do it all.  So, here's the deal.  I've been offered a teaching position, M-Th from 3-5, so I'd need to be there around 2:30.  That means on some days I would need a daycare from 2-4:30, 5:00 or 5:30, depending on what time the hubby could get off.  The work place is downtown.

Any ideas or recommendations?  I know of A Good Time Out, and we love that place, but it is not conveniently located for us.  I could use it once in awhile if I were in a pinch.  Most places don't take drop ins.  They also don't take children for so few hours.  Any recommendations of babysitters looking for part time work?  I value any help.  Thanks!

Post a notice at B.C and Cal State  college students are always looking for a few extra bucks. Call Community Connection, they can give you a list of home day cares and Day care facilities.

we can always help if you're ever in a bind, girl.

as for a long term thing, enrolled students at a and bff's school are always welcome to drop in for $10 an hour even on days they're not attending.  it'd be with their regular teacher, too.   not bad, huh?

Do you have friends, or are you connected with a MOPS group?  There has been quite a lot of discussion about doing a babysitting co-op type deal lately.  I think it was through the University Baptist Church MOPS group by Bakersfield College.  I know many of the moms who attend there, but, have not gone since moving to the other end of town, oldest began Kindergarten last year, and my life went out of control...schedule wise!  Also, I was part of a Beth Moore Bible study at RiverLakes Community Church this summer and that was also part of a new ministry that was to be beginning "soon".  You may want to check into it at the church office, or check out the church website online - not sure there is much info. though....I have a select group of friends that I will utilize in the case of a last minute doctor's appt. or needing to run an errand....without the kiddos.  Otherwise, I'd be sunk!  Hope this helps you out...good luck in finding a good alternative for care for your kiddo!
