ASKELLY MONSTONG, PLEASE!!!

A-mama! A-mama! Askelly monstong please!

Our 2 1/2 year old is finally really starting to talk… but we don’t understand what he is saying most the time! So we figured out a way to understand him by asking him to show us what he wants or what he is talking about. And our little boy would grab us by the hand to show us.

The other night while I was doing homework, he came up to me and said “a-mama! a-mama! askelly monstong please!”

I asked him again what he wanted and he once again said “a-mama! a-mama! askelly monstong please!”

I tried again for the third time before I ask him to “show me” but I still can’t figure out what he is saying! He finally ran back in their room and came back out yelling “Askelly monstong! Askelly monstong!” while waving a DVD in his hand… he handed me the DVD and I flipped it over to see what it was… it was a DVD of Monsters, Inc.!!! He wanted to watch it and that’s what he was saying the whole time!!!

So I got up and said “Oh, you want to watch Monsters, Inc?!?!” And he yelled, “Yesh!!! Yesh!!! Yesh!!!”

And oh, his funny and cute remarks didn’t end there… before the movie was over I had to call him for bath time… he responded, “ah, NOT!!! a-ama-woshing askelly monstong!” (Oh, no!!! I am watching a scary monster!)

LOL~ My 3 year old does that to us still. I had the hardest time figuring out his word for "air conditioners" the other day. It sounded like "ish codishuningers"... Once I figured it out it made me giggle... He was telling me there were "too many air conditioners" on the motorhome outside of our window...

Too cute!  I get it now....A scary monster!!!  ;)  That should be recorded or at least written in the baby book....Our oldest is a gadget guy....and has been since he could crawl (even while being pushed around in the stroller).  He LOVES garage doors, tools, and anything power tool related!  When he was learning to talk, he kept saying, "MAMA....AHHHH JOE, AHHHH JOE!"  We coldn't figure out what he wanted, what he was saying or what an AHHH JOE was.  Then, we were walking down the street in Pismo Beach and he saw a whole line of AHHHH JOE'S!  AND, Lo and behold....the light came on!  The AHHHH JOE was...... Garage door!!  We laughed so hard at the pride in our accomplishment!  We actually figured out the mystery!  And we still tell this story to our son, who is 6 now....this is one to stay in the family books!  (He still has to stop and watch the garage door open or  close and he won't rest until he gets to push the remote button!!!  ;)

Congrats on earning your expert interpreter merit!
