Tennis Anyone?

My six year old wants to learn tennis.  Does anyone have any experiences with local tennis lessons or camps?

Mine has mentioned it also after seeing some people playing at the park on Sunday evenings. I think NOR does classes for kids.. but I don't know anything specific about them.

We're going to go with the week-long tennis camp at Bakersfield Racquet Club.  It's pricey ($200 for 8:30-Noon, or $225 for 8:30-2:30), but it includes lunch and snack every day, camp shirt and prizes, AND a pair of Nike tennis shoes for every participant.  AND it is run by a USPTA certified professional.  Kids are grouped by age and experience, and full day campers have the option to stay until 5pm for swimming and extra tennis.

So that works out to $7.50 an hour for lessons, lunch, shirt, shoes, prizes and pro instruction.  Doesn't seem as pricey then!

You can check out more about them by clicking here.
