Take that, Big Oil!
We haven't driven our car in a week, and it feels great! We haven't bought gas yet this month and at the rate we're going we might not need to! Take that Oil Companies. (I'm sure they got the message and are feeling it in the pocket book... well, probably not, but it sure helps mine) 5 comments from 5 users

Wow, that is impressive. So are you really just not going anywhere or how exactly are you getting around? With kids' appointments, work, etc, etc I can't imagine surviving more then a couple of days without a vehicle - but I do live way out in the NW where you aren't walking to get anywhere. posted by

we are fortunate enough to live close by a bus stop and withing walking/riding distance of most everything. The only day we have to drive is on Sunday because the bus line closest to our church doesn't run on sundays. But we have our bus passes and study the bus routes. Jill takes the bus across town to work every day and the kids and i have been riding it pretty often. When school starts, after I walk my son to first grade, I'll be riding the bike to take my daughter to pre-school... that will save money and hopefully lose some pounds! But we definitely like NOT driving. posted by
