Exercise...Really??

Once I get out of my exercise routine, it takes me months to get back into it.  Am I the only one?  My husband knows that I want to exercise and so he asks me about it every once in a while - which is great - but also makes me feel guilty sometimes.  But I need him to continue to remind me that it is important to me.  I usually got up at 4:55 in the morning to do my 30 minute workout before I had to get ready for work.  But that is just too early for me.  So I am trying to think of a new time.  In between seeing my kids, tutoring other children, my daily job - I'm just running out of hours in my day.  It is so hard to get motivated by myself.  Any ideas on how to gear up to exercise??  Any ideas are welcome.

Have the kids jog with you while you tutor them?? I have no clue where to fit in "extra" things, I'm trying to figure that out myself!! EXTRA to me means less sleep, which is just no good.

This is something my husband and I are struggling with too. We know exercise is important, but we've pretty much given it up since our 20 month old son was born. We try to walk in the evenings while our older ones ride their bikes and our little one is in the stroller. We bought a double stroller, so soon we can take both little ones.

I don't know how I'm going to make it all work once I start work either, luckily I'll only work 2 or 3 days a week plus weekends, but I still need to work in some exercise for myself.  That's my new "mommy" time, just wish I could actually remember what all I was thinking about while I was walking!!

How about bath time - is that a shared thing or does one parent take care of baths every night?  Usually I clean up the dishes and Brian does the boys baths.  Usually the boys get in the bath right after dinner, but maybe I can get Brian to wait til dishes are done then put the boys in the bath and I can walk while they are in there.  Do you work outside the home?

I just thought of something else - try doing some "mini" exercises while you are getting dressed in the morning. I don't remember all the correct names but something like lifting your heels off the floor, hold for a few seconds, then lower them, but don't actually touch the floor (I think this is a ballet move).  I tried some of my old bellydance moves the other morning and got a tummy work out while I dried my hair - make a figure 8 with your hips, vertically or horizontally, tuck your butt under you and lift your boops (the posture really helps control the muscles), try to move just your hips, not your whole body.  The vertical figure 8's are easiest, the horizontal ones take a little practice, but you could try what's called a hip roll - lift one hip up, then push it out, then lower it down, your heel should be off the floor and rotates with your hip, your opposite foot should be firmly planted on the floor.  And there is the half barrel roll - sort of like a hula hoop swing, put you only move your hips/butt in a half circle, shifting your weight on the balls of your feet as you roll, try it "back" first, then try rolling forward.

I need to write these moves down again do I remember to try them. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the input.  Belly Dancing...so out of my comfort zone! :)  But it is worth a try.  Yes, I work out of the home.  I am a teacher - but I'm working summer school ~ pre-school.  15 4 year olds really wear you out.  I wish I could call that exercise.  During the regular school year I teach 4th & 5th grade.  We do PE 20 minutes a day, and I typically play with the kids so I do count that as exercise.  They can get really rough and competitive!
