We were in the car today, running some errands, and my son was upset because he wanted to fix something. I can't even remember right now what it was, but lately he has had this desire to make things just so, just the way he wants them.

Anyway, he was whining and complaining, and I finally just told him, "Honey, it's okay. We can't always make things perfect. Nothing in this world is perfect."

And then he looked up at me and said, "Because only God can make things perfect."

My eyes instantly welled up.
