Too DARN Hot!!
It's been awhile since I've sat down to write. I was out of town for most of one week and my Dad had surgery which threw off last week, plus the holiday. But lately it's been hard to blog because my house is soooo hot during the day. Needless to say a swamp cooler doesn't work once it's over 90...and 108? FORGET IT! So, we divide our time between Barnes and Noble or other well cooled places. And, as I have every year since birth (minus the 2 summers I spent living elsewhere) I curse my hometown and wish I could relocate. I was thinking today, come Fall, I will forget my disgust for the month of July, just like I do every October. This is my home, where I grew up, where the bulk of 'my people' live, so it would be hard to leave. But relocating for the summer, if I had the means to do so, would definitely make the other 9 months more enjoyable!! 2 comments from 2 users

I love swamp coolers. I love the hum of them. I love that they are more economical. However, you are right - when it get over 90 or 95, they don't do any good. I do wish we had both a swamp cooler and the air. I love houses that have that combo. posted by

I hear ya! I find myself getting more and more frustrated with the quality of air...or lack thereof, NOT to mention the heat! I gues that I could cope with the heat, if I could take my son outside and not worry about his asthma flaring up and then.....I come down with an upper respiratory infection as well....SIGH. More and more I feel like we should just start looking for a clean, healthy and wholesome place to move to, and do it! But, where? I was also born and raised here, and yes, I do love the fact that we have family here. But, my sinus and upper respiratory infections, my youngests asthma, and just the nasty air is starting to make me think we need to move to Oregon, Idaho, or somewhere else with cleaner air and less particulate matter in the air! Gotta go give the youngest his first of many breathing treatments for the day, and then call my doctor! ;) Just another day in paradise!
