podcasts anyone? - On-Air - Sheeky's Blog - Raising Bakersfield

Do any of you listen to podcasts? I have several that I listen to regularily.
If Raising Bakersfield were to have a podcast, would you listen to it? If you do not listen to them now, would you if this site hosted one? Something that featured local events, interviews with childhood experts and doctors who could answer your questions. and hosted by a local couple?
Just curious how many of you would be interested in something like that. I love podcasts because I can listen to them whatever I'm doing. I can be working or driving or whatever, so don't have to make extra time for them.

what do I need to be able to listen to a podcast? Techno-challenged question, I know, but I'll bite the bullet for anyone else who needed to ask too.

May 15, 2008 at 03:05 PM : I think itunes is...

I think itunes is probably the easiest way. Many podcasts also have feeds you can subscribe to, but I've never gotten down with this path. :) In itunes, just search in the store with the name of the podcast, then "subscribe." Itunes will update whenever there's a new one. You can listen on your computer, on your ipod, or maybe you can even burn it to a disc- I'm not sure.

I adore podcasts. Love to listen to them as I'm cleaning, working, working out... so much creativity goes into it. I find them relaxing and imaginative. I have some favorites... They include:

1. This American Life

2. Lifechurch.tv

3. Relevant Magazine

4. APM: The Story

5. Joyce Meyer

6. Substance Church

yeah, the most common way is to download itunes at itunes.com (its free) Often times, a website will make it available to play directly off of the site iteself, but its nice to have an ipod or other MP3 player so you can take the podcasts with you.
