        <title>Now playing... - Slowing Down the Blur - kevinmorrison&apos;s Blog - Raising Bakersfield</title>
        <link>http://www.raisingbakersfield.com/home/Blog/kevinmorrison/24837</link>
<description>Hello!&amp;nbsp; My name is Kevin Morrison and welcome to my obligatory &amp;quot; Here I am and who I am&amp;quot; post.&amp;nbsp; Please remain seated.&amp;nbsp; Keep arms and legs inside the post at all times.
I am a 34 year old stay at home dad in Southwest Bakersfield, and here&#039;s my relevant stats (Wouldn&#039;t it be cool if we had &amp;quot;Dad Cards&amp;quot; like baseball cards?).&amp;nbsp; Married to Jill, a 4th/5th combo teacher at Fairview Elementary.&amp;nbsp; Raising five year old Layton and three year old Holly.&amp;nbsp; Impatiently waiting on Ileah, our baby daughter we are adopting from China.&amp;nbsp; There&#039;s a billion people over there and they can&#039;t get ONE more set of hands to speed up their adoption process??&amp;nbsp; I am a children&#039;s author, director of Sports Ministries at Christ&#039;s Church of the Valley, and youth director at Kaleo Fellowship.&amp;nbsp; I am a sports nut, chess player, book reader, and occasional laundry doer.&amp;nbsp; I am an Air Force veteran and proud to be in the greatest country in the world.&amp;nbsp; I just wish we would treat it better.
I would not trade my job for the world.&amp;nbsp; Being a stay at home dad is a dream job (assuming you chose it, and I did).&amp;nbsp; My kids are my joy (and my frustration, checks-and-balances system, laughter source, advice center, and best buddies)
In this blog, I will not be imparting any how-tos, why-tos, or who-tos that may be of profound revelation.&amp;nbsp; But I hope to share my experiences, and partnering with yours, we can make Bakersfield a great place for our kids and families.&amp;nbsp; And we can be encouraged in knowing that my kids&amp;nbsp;are not the only ones who pour syrup on the dog or cut holes in their Easter dress, or (insert your child&#039;s highlight reel here).
I&#039;m looking forward to some great conversations and new friendships!&amp;nbsp; Both are welcomed!</description>
