My last "true" summer was a few years ago. I mean I did graduate high school last year (2007) but I was already booked for the oncoming summer with work and all the good stuff that you are referring to. Now I'm in college, and summer is coming again. Only now, instead of viewing it as a break, I view it has one of the worst times of the year in Bakersfield. Not only do I continue to go to school through summer, but I continue to work. Like you stated, there is no break hardly anymore.
