Domestically Disabled (the saga continues)... - Musings on Motherhood - twogirlsmama's Blog - Raising Bakersfield

My intentions were good. I wanted to stay home and fix a meal. The girls decided on chocolate chip pancakes. I say that like it's a tradition around here, but no, I've never made them before--I mean, I've made pancakes, just not with chocolate chips. Anyway! We don't have a griddle so I heated my large skillet, sprayed it with cooking spray and attempted to make the pancakes...and I only burned about 6 before I finally had some success. But not before burning the skillet and having to clean it and start all over. Apparently it had gotten too hot before I started the first batch. And although I had better luck the second time around, it was still a far cry from Martha. They were edible, but they lacked a certain aesthetic appeal. And may I say, the chocolate chips only complicated things, because they can burn too! So, we did eat and I managed to not ruin the sausage I made to go with the cakes, but the chances of me making pancakes again any time soon seems slim and none. My goal: become rich enough to hire a personal chef. A girl can dream, can't she?
