I like to take the kiddos to a book reading once a week. The reading takes about a half-hour, and then you can wander a bit, look at books, or go home (my kids are usually done being calm by the end). They've got them at all of the libraries, Russos has one, Barnes and Noble does, and my favorite is the one at Borders. Check out the Events Calendar --it's got a pretty comprehensive list of where the readings are and on what days. :)
