If you are a social person....you will go nutty at home with kids and no adult contact!!! Try groups like MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) or other stay at home parent groups, like Meetups (also on this site). It was difficult for me to adjust to being a stay at home mom, after working all of my life. I love being home with my kids; however, the everyday at home with little ones can drive anyone insane...especially if you are an extrovert! Check out www.MOPS.org to see what groups are in your area. This is a great non-profit organization that is geared to supporting moms of kids, whatever your age. meetups are also a great way to connect with moms at home, story time is good too. (Personally, hasn't been a big thing with my boys....they prefer to run around the store, library or just buy a book and have me read it a million times at home.)
