Raising Bakersfield

Hello!

I am orginally from Bakersfield and I am proud to be from a pioneer family of Bakersfield. Basically my family was here before Col. Baker had a field - Seriously!  Besides the air quality, I think Bakersfield is a great city to raise a family.  

After the birth of my first daughter in 2003, I became a SAHM.  Although I enjoyed being "Mom" I found I needed to do something to stimulate my "Mommy Brain".  I knew I wanted to stay at home with my girls, but wanted to have something of my own to do.  So I became an agent for Lovable Labels, which provides durable personalized sticker labels for kids and all their stuff.  I absolutely love the products and use my labels on EVERYTHING.  Becoming a WAHM was just what I needed to stimulate me.  Until I had baby #2.

Then after the birth of my second daughter in 2006, I decided I wanted to own my own business!  After much research, I started The Stork Connection which provides 7 foot storks for baby showers and as a birth announcement after a baby is born.  I absolutely love my storks and my girls are able to help me put up "The Big Duck"!  I love helping families celebrate life's special deliveries.  Babies are so precious! 

Now if that wasn't enough to keep me busy.... I also created a networking site for WAHM's in Bakersfield called BakersfieldMom.  I am passionate about promoting other WAHM's in our area because all of us have the same desire to be able to work from home, while still being "Mom".     

My family is the most important thing to me.  I am so thankful that I have a supportive husband that doesn't laugh at all my crazy business ideas...although he does sometimes roll is eyes at them. LOL!
