Raising Bakersfield

There's a bit in the original British television show Coupling where one of the female characters learns she's to have a baby.

Her comment to her beloved, in sharing the news, is classic.

"Time's up, Steve. I think it's someone else's turn to be a child."

I loved that moment in the show. And it's true. Every one gets a turn at being a kid. Then, when their turn is up, they have to climb off the merry-go-round.

I can't wait to hold my beloved's hand while I watch the new kid take a turn.
