About yomama

I am a young-at-heart 60-something mother of 3 grown daughters and grandmother to 2 young boys. I was a stay at home mom most of the time I was raising my family, but I had a career as an elementary school teacher and school superintendent before "retiring" to parenting.

I hope to share with you some of the joys I have had as a parent and grandparent and offer any advice and tips I can to that next generation of moms out there!

So glad to have a "more birthdayed" (as one of my great friends likes to say) on this website to challenge and encourage the younger generation. I left behind some amazing "more birthdayed" friends in Oklahoma when we moved here, and I miss what they had to offer me - though I do still spend a LOT of time on the phone and email with them.
