Protect Against ID Theft: Shred It & Forget It!

Saturday, September 20 at West High School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Better Business Bureau in Central California would like to help you protect yourself against the possibility of identity theft. Get rid of all those old bank statements, credit card bills and miscellaneous paper junk for free.

Bring up to five boxes of documents to the West High School parking lot (1200 New Stine Road) and Shred-It, a professional mobile shredding company, will provide on-site destruction while you watch. There is a voluntary $3/box donation for additional boxes that will be given to the West High Viking Football Team.

Fun In The Sun Car Show

10:00 am to 3:00 pm
The Vintage LTD Car Club of Bakersfield will hold their 28th annual car show on the museum grounds. Over 150 pre-1959 cars will be on hand to illustrate what nostalgia is all about. To show a car, contact Barbara Hollett at (661) 832-5841. Regular museum admission rates apply.

Via Arte Italian Street Painting Festival

Saturday & Sunday, The Marketplace.

Enjoy beautiful chalk drawings in this lovely street festival. Hundreds of artists participate in this enjoyable event that is a treat for all families and is free to all. Entertainment, food, music and more. This year, celebrate Via Arte's 10th birthday with special events and activities planned.

Good Neighbor Festival

11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. Hosted by The Southeast Neighborhood Partnership.

This event will include vendor booths, health care information, employment information, food and entertainment, arts and crafts, activities for children, and an opportunity to recognize individuals (Hidden Heroes) who have made a difference in the community. Fall Festival at The Park at River Walk

The City of Bakersfield Recreation and Parks is holding its second Fall Festival in The Park at River Walk. This exciting and free event will be held on Saturday, October 25th from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday, October 26th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Events on Saturday will include a Fun Walk/Run, costume contest, haunted maze, Storybook Land, a wide variety of vendors, and live entertainment featuring Trent Tomlinson on the Bright House Networks Amphitheatre stage. The fun continues on Sunday with games for children, haunted maze, live entertainment and various vendors.

Mother & Son Luau

Saturday, October 25, 6 - 8 pm, Greenacres Community Center.

A great night of fun for Mom and her "Big Kahuna." Hawaiian dinner, hawaiian music, dancing and the limbo!
