My 4-year-old son somehow tipped over a tall, six-drawer chest of drawers yesterday. It was face down and his clothes were scattered as if the room had been twirled by a tornado.
The child weighs maybe all of 30 pounds and has the upper body strength of a kitten. Batting his eyelashes innocently, he swears he doesn't know how it happened.
Good news is my son remains 3-D, as opposed to a flat pancake. Drawers, less so.
The guides on two of the drawers seem to be bent beyond repair, which brings broken drawers in that room to a grand total of three.
Months ago a playmate stood on top of a drawer in the matching dresser trying to reach a toy, and that drawer hasn't closed properly since.
Now that I have THREE broken drawers, perhaps there is enough critical mass to justify hiring someone to fix them? Would be cheaper than buying new bedroom furniture.
Anybody got any recommendations? I don't like the idea of a hairy, quasi-toothless tattooed stranger in my kids' bedrooms. Would feel better if I used someone recommended by a parent.

So, what's going on? No update from you? What did you do with your furniture?

There's also another option. Sell your old furniture to your friend, not shop, since usually you will get better price. Then buy a new one. I think that will safe some money.

Or even better if you could use the other worse two cupboard to fix the best drawer. I called it canibalism. lol. But basically, fixing one thing with the other and make it even better. Or maybe it's a furniture bash :)

In our shop we sometimes have problems with crooked drawers script. I have a pic attached that shows how the drawer looks from a top view when it is crooked website hosting. We usually use faceframing with 1/2" overlay drawer fronts dedicated hosting. I'm pretty sure that this happens because the drawer box is not perfectly square. But one today was built and its only 1/32" off from being square. This is pretty close to square for a 32" wide drawer free web host. Any ideas out there? Sure would like all the drawerfronts to lay flush agaisnt the faceframing! We are using full extension drawer slides by the way!
Hey, I think fixing your furnitures are better option for you to do. Since buying a new furniture would cost more now, I suggest that you fix them one by one while waiting for your fund. If you plan to buy one, though, I would recommend IKEA for your furniture need. Good luck.

Did anyone actually watch the Women's playoff match Canada v. USA? There was an obvious bias in the way the game was refereed. The referees wanted the away country to win. CAN is by far the superior team in every way - CAN should be going for the gold. Not USA!

most of those runners nail in. Home depot and lows carry the replacement runners.
Boy, this sounds familiar! My oldest did this at the age of 2 or 3.....thankfully, ours was not bent beyond repair...simply a little off kilter. If the dresser was expensive...I'd pay to have it fixed. If you bought it with the thought that "it's kids furniture and will most likely be written on, used as a ladder, or gooped up with stickers & tape....and I'm not paying a fortune for that!" then, I would set it out for Goodwill, take the write off and go buy another one that's equal in size, possibly shorter in height....or, strap it to the wall this time.
Sorry to say, I don't have a recommendation for you....I would sooner take the drawers out of the dresser (if they are the problem area that is bent) and seek a furniture repair place to take them to. If the dresser track is bent....try using a pair of pliers to bring it back into shape. Most are easily bent, thus, bend back easily. If all else fails...ask friends you trust at your synagogue or know through social connections....definitely either attach the dresser to the wall, or buy a wider and lower dresser next time. From my experience, the tall ones are trouble with kids that like to climb. My oldest tipped his dresser at least 3 or 4 times before I wised up and strapped it to the wall. (furniture straps are simply a short piece of metal that you attach to the back of the dresser and to the wall - through a stud or with a hollow wall mount that is sturdy.)
